Easy Release Handbrake - Conventional
This easy release handbrake is designed for vehicles with a conventional shaped handbrake.
Designed for drivers with limited hand function, this adapation reduces the grip required and eliminates the need to depress the button with the thumb. It allows the driver to engage the button without articulation of the thumb and the increased mechanical advantage reduces the amount of force required to depress the button. This adaptation also benefits users who find it difficult to grasp and pull a conventional handbrake.
For conventional style handbrakes, there are two options of easy release handbrake; standard or inline.

Easy Release Handbrake - Foot Operated Parking Brake
Some vehicles have a foot operated pedal to release the parking brake instead of a handbrake lever. This adaptation enables drivers who are unable to use their feet, to operate the parking brake by hand.
N.B. A hand operated parking brake may also be required alongside a left foot accelerator.

Electric Handbrakes
Many vehicle models can now be specified with an electric handbrake as standard from the factory. We would recommend you consider this option if you have difficulties operating any other style of handbrake within a vehicle. If the vehicle is not available with an electric handbrake, the adaptations above may be able to assist you.
